Sam Sweetmilk wants to die in a blaze of laser-frazzled glory. That's all. When a man finds he's deleted all his own memories, waking up on a ship in deep space with no idea how he got there, he has two options: embrace his strange new life, like an adult, or reject it entirely. Naturally Sam chose the latter. We him one year later — having seized control of his ship, the Goldfish, and enlisted its maintenance robot Ghostworth (Kevin R McNally), Sam now self-destructively drops himself into all the cosmic hot water he can find. His idiot good luck earns him the respect of a galactic superpower, the bounty on a cosmic war criminal, a new crew member in an idealistic alien castaway and — when offered a way to find his lost memories a guided voyage to meet the architect of the universe. Plenty of chances at laser-frazzled glory there, as you can imagine.
